St. James Parish area residents can get help navigating driver’s license reinstatement at the Oct. 24, 2026 clinic co-hosted by Koch Methanol St. James and community partners.
For many people, a driver’s license is an important part of everyday independence — providing a way to get to work, care for family and manage daily responsibilities. When driving privileges are suspended, the right guidance can help residents understand the steps toward reinstatement.
Koch Methanol St. James will once again join Baker Botts, the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV), Kean Miller, Liskow and the 23rd Judicial District Court in offering the Pro Bono Driver’s License Restoration Clinic. The clinic connects residents with legal professionals, state officials and local judges who can help them understand their driving records, address outstanding requirements, and identify next steps toward reinstatement.
NOTE: While there is no cost to participate in the clinic and the services offered by legal teams and judges are pro bono, OMV still charges standard fees to issue a driver’s license.

Date: Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026 at 9AM to 2:30PM

Availability: Appointment is preferred as walk-in availability will be limited.

What can participants expect at the clinic?
During the clinic, volunteer attorneys and participating agencies will review individual driving records and help attendees identify issues affecting their license status. These may include insurance lapses, court obligations, unpaid traffic violations or holds involving the Louisiana Department of Revenue.
Depending on each participant’s circumstances, the clinic may also provide opportunities to address qualifying court-related fines or penalties and certain OMV-related holds. While there is no cost to participate in the clinic and the services offered by legal teams and judges are pro bono, OMV still charges standard fees to issue a driver’s license.
